Welcome to TruePath Counseling Services! My name is Byron Vannoy. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Washington (#LH60900043).Prior to opening my private practice, I fielded calls on a county crisis line, provided therapy in a community mental health clinic, and for the past four years maintained a full caseload in a group practice that specializes in treatment of relationship problems, compulsive sexual behavior, and infidelity issues.

Approach to Therapy

I believe therapy can be an empowering, integrative, and life-enhancing experience; that the most effective therapy comes from establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. This happens in a supportive, non-judgmental, and shame-free environment, where it is safe for us to be honest and exploratory.

You are an individual with unique life experiences that can be utilized to address current life challenges and enrich your relationship with yourself and others. This can occur by increasing self-awareness, identifying strengths, challenging old beliefs, identifying unhelpful patterns, learning new skills, addressing emotional pain, and working toward a sense of balance based on your own set of values.

My job is help to facilitate this by asking questions and offering observations. This involves talking about your past and present experiences and behaviors that concern you. My focus is on collaboration to discover what works for you during this process, and it is my privilege to be a part of this experience with you.
